The Aircraft Noise Ombudsman (ANO)
conducts independent reviews of Airservices Australia’s and Defence’s management of aircraft noise-related activities.

The Aircraft Noise Ombudsman (ANO) conducts independent reviews of Airservices Australia’s and Defence’s management of aircraft noise-related activities, including:

  • the handling of complaints or enquiries made to Airservices Australia or Defence about aircraft noise
  • community consultation processes related to aircraft noise
  • the presentation and distribution of aircraft noise-related information
  • If you have a complaint about aircraft noise, you should first make your complaint directly to Airservices Australia’s Noise Complaints and Information Service or with the Department of Defence.


If you are not satisfied with the way your complaint was handled, you can make a complaint to the ANO by filling out the
online complaint form.

Alternatively, you can make a complaint by phone, email or mail. The service is free and available to anyone.
