Aircraft Noise Ombudsman

The Aircraft Noise Ombudsman (ANO) conducts independent reviews of Airservices Australia's and Defence's management of aircraft noise-related activities. The ANO is independent of Airservices and Defence executive management structures, and reports directly to the Board of Airservices or Chief of Air Force, as appropriate.

The ANO will be appointed for a minimum three-year term and is a part-time position averaging two to three days a week over a 12 month period. The ANO is responsible for managing a small Canberra-based team, and while the successful applicant is not required to be based in Canberra, the individual is expected to have a regular presence there.

Under the terms of the ANO Charter, applicants will be assessed on their objectivity, qualifications, experience and personal qualities. Previous experience as an ombudsman will be highly regarded, and applicants should demonstrate experience in resolving complaints in a fair, independent and objective manner.

The ANO is an equal opportunity employer with a commitment to diversity and inclusion, and we encourage applications from all qualified candidates.
