It helps if you can describe the issues and how Airservices Australia or Defence has responded to you, as well as information such as:

  • which airport or aerodrome is involved
  • what type of aircraft (jets, helicopters, etc)
  • what information you have already received about aircraft noise in your area

Note: You can email copies of any relevant documentation (for example, your most recent and any other significant responses from Airservices Australia or Defence) to for consideration with your complaint. Please ensure you include your name so that we can link the email with your online complaint.

The Aircraft Noise Ombudsman (ANO) is committed to the protection of your privacy and personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles. Your personal information is collected to enable us to provide any of our services you request.

We use your information provided on this form (and in any subsequent communications with us) to provide our services, including to investigate your complaint, and to fulfil administrative functions associated with these services.

Relevant parties may include Australian Airports and other government agencies, such as the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority, the Department of Defence or Airservices Australia (including to the Noise Complaint Information Service (NCIS)) if you ask us to review their handling of your initial complaint.

Generally we collect your personal information from you directly. Sometimes it may be necessary for us to collect your personal information from a third party such as an Australian Airport, Department of Defence or NCIS. If you provide us with someone else's personal information, you should only do so if you have their authority or consent to provide us with such information.
