April-June 2024 Quarterly Report
The Aircraft Noise Ombudsman (ANO) received a total of 385 complaints during the quarter. This includes 316 non-actionable complaints and 69 actionable complaints. The ANO carried forward 12 complaints on 1 April 2024. During this quarter (April-June 2024), the ANO closed 65 actionable complaints, and therefore carries forward 16 complaints to July 2024.
ANO Annual Report 2023-2024
Previous annual reports have noted the historical deficits of Airservices in the engagement of the community in the design and implementation of flight paths. Flight path design occurred with no input from impacted communities and community engagement was a secondary matter that was circumscribed by the design rather than informing it.
January-March 2024 Quarterly Report
The Aircraft Noise Ombudsman (ANO) received a total of 326 complaints during the quarter. This includes 211 non-actionable complaints and 115 actionable complaints. The ANO carried forward 28 complaints on 1 January 2024. During this quarter (January-March 2024), the ANO closed 131 actionable complaints, and therefore carries forward 12 complaints to April 2024.

The Aircraft Noise Ombudsman (ANO) received a total of 1,326 complaints during the quarter. This includes 1,188 non-actionable complaints and 138 actionable complaints. The ANO carried forward 10 complaints on 1 July 2023. During this quarter (July-September 2023), the ANO closed 127 actionable complaints, and therefore carries forward 21 complaints to October 2023.
ANO Annual Report 2022-2023
Last year’s Annual Report noted the historical failure of Airservices to adequately engage with the impacted community prior to the implementation of new flight paths. Brisbane was the latest example and it continued to dominate complaints to the ANO through this year.
April-June 2023 Quarterly Report
The Aircraft Noise Ombudsman (ANO) received a total of 1,713 complaints during the quarter. This includes 1,595 non-actionable complaints and 118 actionable complaints. The ANO carried forward 21 complaints on 1 April 2023. During this quarter (April-June 2023), the ANO closed 129 actionable complaints, and therefore carries forward 10 complaints to July 2023.
